Newcastle v Tottenham Free Tips

Newcastle have racked up a number of losses since allowing Alan Pardew leave the club to manage Crystal Palace. Despite losing Pardew back in January, the club were quick to commit to John Carver as caretaker manager until the end of the season. That commitment meant that Newcastle missed out on Premier League managing talent in Tim Sherwood and Tony Pulis.

Tottenham have proven that they lack in Big Four potential by displaying patchy form in places this season. For all of the successful results they earn, Spurs cannot maintain their momentum when it matters most. After emerging as possible Champions League contenders, that prospect was extinguished by poor results against Man Utd, Burnley, and Aston Villa.

Expectations

Newcastle are still nursing an injury list filled with important players like Siem de Jong, Cheick Tioté, Fabricio Coloccini, and Steven Taylor. Another critical absence is suspended striker Papiss Cissé, who has netted 11 times this season. Those problems make a Newcastle victory a distant prospect.

Tottenham are now at risk of finishing in a worse position this season than they did last year. Should they remain in seventh, Spurs are at risk of missing out on Europa League qualification. The only definite place to qualify from is fifth. However, sixth will likely make it in because Chelsea won the League Cup.

Spurs would be a lot worse off this season without Harry Kane, the young prodigy who has scored 19 league goals already. To finish this season strongly, it is vital that Kane gets back to scoring form this Sunday. Kane failed to find the net against Burnley and Aston Villa.

The issue with Spurs is that players like Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli have not been producing enough goals and assists in recent weeks. A soft Newcastle defence probably will not be enough to stop Spurs.
