December was looking OK

by admin | Posted in Betfair   No Comments »

December was looking ok until yesterday when I took a nasty hit!

Yesterday shows a loss of £167 mainly on 3 late evening foreign draws :(

Here’s a screenshot of the month so far

£278 profit from football still isn’t so bad, it’s better than making a loss, hopefully I’ve taken the nasty hit and can build up some more profit from the Christmas fixtures!

The new season is upon us

Well almost, with 3 weeks until the Premier League kicks off and a couple until the rest of the football league kicks off I thought it was time to start looking at this again, football betting time!!

Whilst it’s not quite bbq weather it is the summer, and with summer comes pre-season friendlies, also the Scandinavian seasons are in full flow I believe.

Over the weekend I placed a few small draw lays, 100% record for the weekend, well it was only 4 bets but a winning bet is a winning bet!

What are your tips for the coming season?

Football Betting Tips

by admin | Posted in Betfair, Premiership   1 Comment »

Well i’ve not been very good at giving football betting tips, but i’ve never really claimed to do that, I just try and blog about what i’m betting on, and i’ve not been so good at that either :)

Well i’m posting another screenshot of my P&L for the last 7 days, I tend to do quite a few bets throughout the day when there are games on, so it’s the main reason I don’t post them all.

This week saw me twice not be able to lay off 3-3 in the Liverpool v Chelsea and Liverpool v Arsenal games, stupid pub and no mobile internet signal!!!

So here is my Betfair P&L screenshot for the last week :)

FA Cup Semi Final

by admin | Posted in FA Cup   No Comments »

So the weekend brings the FA Cup semi-finals, Arsenal take on Chelsea and Man Utd take on Everton.

Both games are at Wembley which to me takes the shine off the whole competition, years ago the whole point of the FA Cup was the chance to play in the final at Wembley, now the FA need to make the money back on the delay of the Stadium being built it means the semi finals are played there too.

Ok to the betting, i’m going for:

Chelsea/Man Utd double – £50 at odds of 4.4

23rd February

Hull v Tottenham

The last few bets haven’t been so good :)

Lets try and claw a bit back tonight with Hull taking on Spurs, both teams could do with the win to take them away from the relegation zone.

I can see a few goals in this game tonight, so the bets are:

Over 2.5 goals, £50 at odds of 2.22

Draw Lay, £50 at odds of 3.45

8th February

Tottenham v Arsenal

A big game for Arsenal today, their chance to reduce the gap to Chelsea and fourth place to just 3 points.

Derby day, anything could happen so my bet is just:

Over 2.5 goals, £40 at odds of 2.02

31st January

Stoke V Man City

by admin | Posted in Premiership   No Comments »

The early game in the Premiership today is Stoke v Man City.

A tough one to predict, City have a few new players in the squad and Stoke may set out just to not lose, I really can’t decide which way this will go, Stoke don’t score or concede many at home and City score and concede a lot on the road, so my bets are:

Over 2.5 goals, £50 at odds of 2.06

Correct Score, 0-0, £10 at odds of 11.5

19th January

My Granny could have scored that!

Thanks Darren Bent! If only he’d put it away and the Tottenham bet would have been perfect, now it puts the profit into a loss, boo hoo, hopefully it can be clawed back into the black with tonights merseyside derby.

I haven’t decided what to bet on just yet, i’ll have a bit of a gander at the odds later!

Premiership Betting – All in London today

West Ham take on Fulham at Upton Park and the game of the day has to be Portsmouth’s visit to White Hart Lane to take on their old boss Harry Redknapp and his new side Tottenham.

West Ham v Fulham is up first, now these teams do not score alot of goals between them, Fulham’s last four away games have ended 0-0 and in their last 6 away games have scored just 2 goals and conceded 2 goals, it’s no suprise that the odds for over 2.5 goals stands at 2.42. The last time there was over 2.5 goals in a Fulham away game was August 2008 when they lost 2-1 at Hull. This game has under 2.5 goals written all over it so my only bet on this game is:

Over 2.5 goals, £30 at odds of 1.7.

The later game is Tottenham v Portsmouth, on first look it could be said nothing has improved since Harry arrived but a win today will see them go from bottom of the league to 12th! that’s how tight it is in the bottom half of the table.

I think Spurs will get their act in gear today and we should hopefully see an entertaining game, my bets:

Over 2.5 goals, £20 at odds of 2.02
Draw Lay, £40 at odds of 3.95

It’s refreshing to see at this point in the season the top 4 separated by just 3 points, even Arsenal in 5th are just 6 points off the top, it’s a hard one to call but with United at the summit you have to say they are favourites, unfortunately :)

2009 Betting

by admin | Posted in Premiership   No Comments »

OK it’s been a while since I posted on this blog so lets start again for 2009.

First game is Aston Villa v West Brom, I think Villa are going to be just a bit too strong for West Brom today, so the bets are

Aston Villa v West Brom, draw lay, £50 at odds of 4.3

Aston Villa v West Brom, Over 2.5 goals, £25 at 1.92.

Good Luck
