Man Utd v Arsenal – Free Tips & Match Preview

Man Utd have an opportunity to shine in their final difficult game of the season. After successive victories against Tottenham, Liverpool, and Man City, the Reds then lost three straight, including a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea. However, a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday was enough to break their losing streak.

Michael Carrick was still injured for the game, which explains why Man Utd struggled to create to create good chances from their 63% share of possession. A Juan Mata penalty was needed for Man Utd to open the scoring. Jason Puncheon then levelled after 57 minutes before Marouane Fellaini scored the winner after 78 minutes.

Arsenal could still clinch second place thanks to their game in hand, which comes against Sunderland next Wednesday. Arsène Wenger also needs to maintain form also because they have an FA Cup final to play against Aston Villa at the end of May.

The Gunners have been the form team in the league since February, and that could continue against Man Utd. Arsenal have proven capable of winning big games, and Man Utd might be without the influential Carrick and Wayne Rooney.

Expectations

Daley Blind has proven reasonably effective at filling in for Michael Carrick, and the team certainly plays better than when Ander Herrera is made to play in the midfield anchorman role.

Man Utd sorely lack creative in midfield when Herrera is deployed deep. Over their three-match losing streak, the Reds did not score once from open play. Blind has to continue if Man Utd are to stand a chance.

Arsenal are ready to control the midfield battle. The fantastic Francis Coquelin has the physicality to compete against Man Utd, while Santi Cazorla can retain possession and help bring his attacking players into the game. Cazorla has seven goals and nine assists so far in the league.
