Monday Betting

Right, here is today's bet:

Newcastle v Tottenham, over 2.5 goals, £100 at odds of 1.84 to win £84.00.

There's been quite a few goals in the last few meetings so hopefully that trend continues tonight!

Football Betting Blog update....

....sort of, I haven't updated the blog for a week, I didn't really fancy any bets on the international games due to alot of teams not needing to win, I did opt for overs in the end of week Conference and League 2 games but wont be including them here as it could just be seen as aftertiming ;o)

I went to the Merseyside Derby yesterday so didn't blog any bets as I didn't get time.

I'm also taking part in a Betfair Challenge with a friend to see who can reach £5,000 first with a starting bank of £500, it's being logged here

England v Estonia

England kick off in 15 minutes, there isn't much to bet on in this game really but I will put £10 on 3-0 England at odds of 6.0 to win £50.

Other bets for today will include:

Cyprus v Wales, a lay of the draw, £50 at odds of 3.50 (liability of £125)

Denmark v Spain, a lay of the draw, £50 at odds of 3.45 (liability of ££122.50)

Ireland v Germany, Over 2.5 goals, £50 at odds of 2.08 to win £54

Damn you Oxford

Well done to Oxford for throwing away a 3-0 lead at half time, Torquay managed to claw back to earn a 3-3 draw, which means i'm £130 down now.

International Games this weekend so i'll take a look at those soon!

Labels:

Oxford Utd v Torquay

A bit thin on the ground for games today, but Oxford Utd take on Torquay in the Conference so I will be having a bet on this with a lay of the draw, £50 at odds of 3.6 (liability of £130)

100% profit

Leeds beat Darlington 1-0 to ensure the draw lay bet came in, I deliberately put less on the overs bet so that they didn't cancel each other out if overs didn't come in.

It now puts the profit at £503 over 5 days and 11 winning bets out of 16 with a strike rate of 68.75%, which I wish was higher but it's the profit figure that really counts!!

There isn't any games that interest me today, Tenerife v Malaga is the only game in-play tonight on Betfair and being Spanish Cup I wont be risking anything!

Darlington v Leeds

Last night's bets cancelled themselves out as the game finished 1-0.

Today's bets are:

Darlington v Leeds, draw lay, £60 at odds of 3.65 (liability of £159)

Darlington v Leeds, over 2.5 goals, £30 at odds of 2.18 to win £35.40

QPR v Norwich

Just the one game this evening QPR v Norwich, these games are normally full of goals so I will be laying the draw and backing over 2.5 goals.

Draw lay, £50 at odds of 3.65 (liability of £132.50)

backing over 2.5 goals, £50 at odds of 2.04 to win £52

A very good weekend

Thankyou Santander!! another £50 added to the total making the profit £473 after 12 bets.

It's quite good doing this paper betting, with real money I'd bet on every game/market available almost and lose sight of the whole point of how I made the £1600 before, which was just basically betting on laying draws and backing over 2.5 goals.

Chasing losses doesn't help either, I think i'll stick to the paper betting for now and start using real money once my mindset is right again!

The stats now stand at 9 winning bets out of 12, 75% strike rate!

Still making profit

Well the Arsenal result came in but not the Reading overs so they offset each other, Chelsea won so that adds another £273 to the profit which now stands at £423.

So far from 8 wins from 11 bets a strike rate of 73%

Next bet:

Santander vs Valladolid draw lay, £50 at odds of 3.5 (liability of £125)

A good days profit

Well Espanyol managed to win 2-1 away to Valencia, Valencia's second defeat at home in a week after going 1-0 up.

The bank now stands at £850, a nice (fantasy) profit of £350 so far.

Now for Sundays bets, the early game is Arsenal v Sunderland, over 2.5 goals looks generous at 1.7 but I can't see Sunderland scoring so makes it a tough choice, to lay the draw it's at odds of 7, as I think Arsenal will win I am going to lay the draw for £50 at odds of 7 (liability of £310)

Reading v Derby over 2.5 goals, £50 at 1.95 to win £47.50

Chelsea to beat Bolton, £100 at odds of 1.73 to win £73

that'll do for now until after the Arsenal result has come in

Spanish Football Bet

Unfortunately Bristol City v Sheff United finished 2-0, so a loss of £74 puts the bank down to £750.

There's only one game in La Liga today so the next bet is to lay the draw for £100 in Valencia v Espanyol, odds of 3.90 (liability of £290)

I was tempted to back Valencia to win at odds around 1.74 and over 2.5 goals looks good at 2.10 but i'll stick with just laying the draw.

Labels:

Going well so far

So over 2.5 goals in Southampton v West Brom was easy and obvious, so 1.74 was a good price and Leicester did the business early on to win 2-0.

The bank now stands at £824, Betfair has been down so i'm going for over 2.5 goals in Bristol City v Sheffield United, £74 at odds of 2.48 to hopefully win £109.52

Championship Betting

Well united obliged with the overs putting the bank now at £700

Next up is over 2.5 goals in Southampton v West Brom, £100 at odds of 1.74 to win £74

and a draw lay in Sheff Wed v Leicester, £50 at odds of 3.4 (liability of £120)

Labels:

Man Utd v Wigan

Thanks to 10 man Dortmund winning 2-1 the bank now stands at £620 after Accrington and Wrexham only managing a 1-1 draw.

Today's first bet is:

Man Utd v Wigan over 2.5goals, £100 stake at odds of 1.80

The last 5 games between these teams have always been overs and United have struggled to score overs for a while so it's about time they did.

1860 Munich win 2-0

A 2-0 win for 1860 Munich to get off to a good start puts the bank at £600.

Next bets are:

Accrington Stanley v Wrexham over 2.5 goals, £50 at odds of 1.90

Dortmund v Bochum draw lay at odds of 3.45 for £70 (liability of £171.50)

Labels:

Fantasy Betting

Ok, let's start with a fantasy bank of £500 and these are bets that I would make if i'd put some physical cash into betfair, the only difference is I wont be trading on these bets, they'll be left to run.

First bet is to lay the draw:

Carl Zeiss Jena v 1860 Munich odds at 3.60 for £100 (liability of £260)

Give it a rest!

Well that was typical wasn't it, a 95th minute equaliser and CSKA draw, 1-1 for the Aberdeen game so decided to put £35 on Blackburn to win 3-0, so they let in an early goal to Clarissa or Larissa whatever they are called!! then decide to back Blackburn to win for £6 and when they scored realised i'd backed the away team, how much bad luck do you need???

So for now that's it, I really will give it a break for a few months but I will just make 'paper bets' and post them here, it'll be just my luck to make a fortune on paper!!

I'll post up any bets later today

The end is nigh

It's all going wrong, just when I think i'm getting somewhere I lose focus and bet stupid!!

Laying draws big, correct scores, over 2.5 goals, you name it it's gone wrong!!

Tonight i've layed the draw in CSKA Sofia v Toulouse for £20 and done over 2.5 goals in Dnipro v Aberdeen

After that we'll see what's left to play with.

Long Term Bets - Top Goalscorers

I don't normally like to tie money up in long term bets such as League winners or top goalscorers but I have placed a couple so far, they are:

Premiership top goalscorer - Fernando Torres - £20 @ 7.82
Championship top goalscorer - James Beattie - £15 @ 8.2

also the one i've mentioned before
Premiership champions - Liverpool - £50 @ 7.6

All three to come in would be perfect!
